Okay — So what are terpenes?

Terpenes are fragrant oils found in many plants. These natural powerhouses have long been associated with a wide variety of wellness benefits.

Citrus
from peels, decreases inflammation

Ho Wood
from camphor laurel trees, increases calm

Ylang Ylang
from flowers, boosts mood

Lavender
from flowers, speeds relaxation

Clary Sage
from leaves, eases stress

When blended with CBD, terpenes amplify benefits and deliver targeted symptom relief for both mind and body.

We go beyond CBD for effective results.

Daygold contains multiple hemp and plant extracts, terpenes and other potent cannabinoids that work together for a much more effective result than CBD alone. Collectively, these extracts produce the "entourage effect," a dynamic difference you can feel working from the first dose.

Dr. Russo: neurologist, cannabis pioneer & formulator of Daygold

Dr. Ethan Russo, a board-certified neurologist, has been studying the medicinal benefits of cannabis and other plants for over twenty five years.

He was part of the team of doctors to usher in the first FDA approved cannabis medicine and is a widely respected and trusted doctor amongst medical marijuana practitioners, and industry experts. Dr. Russo formulated three distinct Daygold blends, based on decades of research, to address some common discomforts of modern life.

Getting started with Daygold.

The easy-to-use tincture dispenser (dropper) that comes with each vial of Daygold makes starting a daily regimen simple.

Begin with a half-dropper (.5 mL) under your tongue for maximum absorption, hold for 30 seconds, swallow, and notice the effects. When taking your next serving increase by another half-dropper (1 mL total) if needed. Keep adding a half-dropper per serving (if needed), up to two droppers (2 mL) per serving.

Botanical blends backed by research and made with care.

Cannabinoids

  • What is CBD exactly?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabis sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana or hemp, according to the US National Library of Medicine. CBD is not intoxicating, yet it does have beneficial effects like promoting relaxation and a sense of calm in the mind and body.

  • Will CBD make me high?

No. The cannabis plant is made up both CBD and THC, among other cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds. CBD is the non-intoxicating portion of the plant. It does not produce the feeling of being high. Daygold has a very low level of THC to maximize the synergistic benefits of hemp compounds without the high.

  • Is CBD oil legal?

CBD oil is derived from the Sativa L. hemp plant and is legal to sell, procure and consume in the United States based on the US Farm Bill (signed into law in December of 2018). Daygold products are clinically tested to ensure that they do not contain more than 0.3% THC (the psychoactive chemical compound in hemp that causes a feeling of intoxication).

  • I’ve heard of CBD, but what are CBG and CBN?

CBG is short for Cannabigerol, which is a form of cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). CBG has been uniquely connected to potential digestive benefits and potential antimicrobial qualities in cannabis research. CBN is actually more closely related to THC than it is to CBD in terms of chemical composition. Yet, CBN does not significantly stimulate the brain’s CB1 and CB2 receptors (so it does not have intoxicating qualities). Early research and anecdotal evidence suggests that CBN aids sleep.

  • What is THC and is it in Daygold?

THC stands for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ-9-THC). THC is one of more than 400 cannabinoid molecules in marijuana (cannabis). It has long been recognized as the main psychoactive ingredient—that is, the substance that causes people who use marijuana to feel high by stimulating the brain’s CB1 and CB2 receptors. Daygold uses full spectrum hemp extracts which contain only trace amounts of THC (<than 0.3% THC) to produce the benefits of hemp without the high.

Terpenes

  • What are plant terpenes and what do they do?

While you may not have heard the word “terpenes” before you’re certainly familiar with them. Terpenes are naturally occurring compounds commonly found in plants that impart aroma. The presence of unique terpenes give lavender a calming scent, roses their perfume, and evergreen trees a signature smell. In fact, more than thirty thousand terpenes have been identified in nature. Plants use terpenes in a variety of ways, including defense and communication. It’s the high-quality, unique terpenes in Daygold that create dynamic flavors, soothing aromas, and unmistakable effects for our customers. Terpenes are what set us apart from other CBD brands on the market.

How to use

  • What are the potential side effects of Daygold?

Taken as directed, the potential effects of Daygold are a sense of calm and ease in the body and mind. Taking more than the suggested amount may lead to stomach upset (burping).

  • Do doctors recommend using Daygold products?

Daygold products are formulated with the highest standards and triple tested to ensure efficacy. They are recommended by Dr. Ethan Russo, a neurologist and one of the foremost experts on the beneficial effects of CBD and terpenes. Dr. Russo helped develop Daygold compounds and is a well-known advocate of the proven theory called “the entourage effect” – getting a better result by utilizing full spectrum CBD with terpenes.

  • What’s the right serving size for me?

We recommend you start low and go slow. Recommended starting serving is ½ dropper twice daily. If you do not feel results after four hours, increase by ½ dropper at the next serving. Do not exceed 2 full droppers in a single use. Wait at least four hours between servings.

  • Who can take Daygold?
